What Is The Best Way To Upload A Website To A Domain Name?

I bought a domain name from godaddy. com and I want to design my own website to go with it. I don’t want to use the templates through the program that godaddy uses, I want to go about using my own design. I already have dreamweaver but I don’t understand what to do next. I own a domain name, do I now have to spend more money to host my website? Thanks for any help.

I have godaddy for several websites. It’s pretty cheap to have your site hosted there. Like less than 5$ a month for the least expensive plan. You ftp to that site and you can organize it anyway you want. The home or starting page should be named index.html to automatically load. Also the ftp site is http://www.Yourdomainname.yoursuffix.

You will have to get a hosting company to host your website.
If you already have dreamweaver, then you can sign up with yahoo hosting .. yahoo is simple

It depends. I think GoDaddy has a free hosting option that allows you to have a site for free, but they get to put advertising on it. As far as your other question, typically webpages are uploaded to a site via FTP. You will need an ftp program, like WS_FTP to do so. You should get some info from GoDaddy telling you the FTP site you need to got to, as well as login info. If you don’t, give them a call. The last time I spoke to customer service there they were very helpful.
